Kritika Kamra, the affable, bubbly and cute girl from the world of TV, is a perfect blend of beauty and brains. Kritika is currently playing the role of naughty and happy-go-lucky Nidhi in Sony’s Kuch Toh Log Kahenge. In the show, she finds doctor Ashutosh (Mohnish Behl) very khadoos (will see how that will turn out in the future). The story basically revolves around the love affair (Nidhi) between a young girl and an elderly gentleman (Ashutosh).

Tellychakkar talked to Kritika and asked what she thinks about a relationship between a young and an elderly in real life. The actress showed a pretty mature head and answered with utmost suavity and control. “I have seen mature love around me. When you are in love and you know it is right, I guess age doesn’t matter. I know it’s difficult to accept but ultimately it’s their choice and I am no one to judge them.”

Yashashree Masurkar is the mistress of spices

Yashashree Masurkar acted her way into the hearts of millions with the spirited portrayal of Khanak in Yash Patnaik’s Rang Badalti Odhani. Her sensuous chemistry with Karan Tacker became talk of the town. Furthermore, she was recently seen as princess Mrignayani in Imagine’s Chandragupta Maurya. It is always a treat to talk to this chirpy actress, who currently is trying her hand over what is known to be the path to every man’s heart, cooking mouth-watering delicacies.

“I stay with my roommates in Malad (Mumbai) while my parents are settled in Vasai (Thane). My roommates always cook for me and I feel like a loser at times. This Diwali I will be at home and I have decided to experiment with my cooking skills,” said Yashashree.

The beautiful actress further told us that she cooks “awesome” dal and her rotisfortunately turns out almost round in one go.

“I am planning to make chivda, karanjiya, and lots of other Diwali sweets. Whenever I get confused with something, my mum helps me. So, wish me luck for my culinary adventures,” ends the actress.

Sky Walkr's doggie love

Renowned for his angry young man image and his tough looks, Akashdeep Sehgal, aka Ansh Gujral of Balaji’s classic Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is one tinsel town hunk. Well, he might have been thrown out for his anger from the reality show Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao, but he belongs to the ‘coconut’ category of people. Confused? Arrey, andar se naram, bahar se garam (tough, we mean).

The latest entrant in Bigg Boss season 5, Akashdeep (oops…his name is Sky Walkr now), is one crazy dog lover.

A source told us that Sky is very fond of his pet dog Nemo. In the Bigg Boss house he literally sat down and told his fellow contestants about his bonding with Nemo. He said that his pet helped him get out of depression after his break up with his girl friend.

Well, and the canine love doesn’t end here. Sky actually went ahead and got his pet’s name tattooed on his chest (Check out the pic above).

I will miss Pavitra Rishta, says Sushant Singh Rajput

It’s not a new thing for a television actor to quit a successful show. Amar Upadhyay, who is currently one of the contestants on Bigg Boss season 5, quitKyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi when the show was at its peak. HeartthrobRajeev Khandelwal bid adieu to Kahiin To Hoga. Other names in the list includeShilpa Anand of Dill Mill Gayye, Mishal Raheja of Laagi Tujhse Lagan, and many others. But fans were shaken when the buzz that Sushant Singh Rajput aka Manav was quitting Balaji’s Pavitra Rishta started doing the rounds.

After a lot of hullabaloo, it was finally confirmed by Tellychakkar that the much loved Manav faced the camera for the last time with Archana aka Ankita Lokhande on October 23.

“Yes, I have quit the show,” said Sushant with a heavy voice.

“I had a three-year contract with Balaji which ended this year. I didn’t want to renew it as I plan to do something more exciting and challenging in life,’ added the actor.

So, excitement beckons Sushant. However, there was news of him flying abroad to pursue a course in film making. “I am interested in film making. But I am not going anywhere at this point of time. Currently, I am just on a break and chilling at home. Furthermore, I am reading books on acting and film making, watching three movies a day, learning martial arts and different dance forms. I am basically exploring myself,” said Sushant.

Sushant is out, and long time Balaji loyalist Hiten Tejwani has replaced him. Will he manage to gain popularity like Sushant and sustain the rising TRPs of Pavitra Rishta?

“I can’t really comment at this point of time. This is not the first time an actor has quit any show. It has happened earlier and viewers have accepted change. I believe more than actors, success of a show depends on its screenplay and storyline,” opines Sushant.

Sushant Singh Rajput and Ankita Lokhande aka Archana are not only partners inPavitra Rishta but also in real life. If rumour mills are to be believed then Ankita along with Sushant also contemplated throwing in the towel. But Sushant has a different story to tell.

“Ankita is very much an independent woman. She can take her own decisions. Yes, I do suggest and advise her on certain issues as we are a couple. But she never wanted to quit Pavitra Rishta and I don’t think she should quit at all. She is doing great and so is the show,” smiles the heartthrob.

TV buffs have loved and adored the chemistry between Sushant and Ankita. Sushant, with his acting prowess and good looks, has emerged as one of the most famous and successful TV actors in recent times. His exit from Pavitra Rishta has filled the hearts of millions with sadness. And Sushant is aware if it.

“I know my fans will miss me. Pavitra Rishta is really close to my heart. I have learnt and enjoyed a lot during the show. I will miss it dearly. But life moves on and I want to experiment and explore as an actor. I promise that I shall be back soon to entertain everyone,” ends Sushant with a beaming smile.

Paras Arora learning to balance work and studies

It is a known fact that working in the TV industry is not a piece of cake. These stars who look like angels and Greek gods on screen work round the clock, often devoid of sleep and rest. It also gets difficult for them to balance personal and professional life. Young and talented Paras Arora aka Shivaji of Colors’ Veer Shivaji is certainly coming to terms with the workings of the industry.

The actor decided to be a part of Veer Shivaji as it was meant to be a bi-weekly. However, the show has now become a weekly and Paras has been struggling to balance work and studies. The actor is in his first year of college and things got difficult for him in the last few weeks as he had to shoot and study for a test at the same time.

So, to strike a balance, Paras is now taking night tuitions. “It’s getting difficult to study and shoot back-to-back scenes. But my college has been very co-operative so it’s been good so far.”

Mahhi Vij and Jay Bhanushali want to get married, but don't have time...

Star couple Jay Bhanushali and Mahhi Vij is complaining. The beautiful duo got engaged a year ago and intends to tie the knot soon. But alas, things are not shaping up the way they want to.

Mahhi rose to fame with Colors’ Laagi Tujhse Lagan as Nakusha. She is one beautiful lady whose one smile can take your breathe away. On the other hand, talented Jay Bhanushali, who is better known as Neev of Balaji’s Kayamath, will be soon seen hosting the third season of Dance India Dance on Zee TV.

The couple seems to be doing fine in their professional life, but due to time constraints they are not being able to spend much time together.

Tellychakkar spoke to Mahhi and asked about her marriage plans. “We both want to get married, but work is not permitting us. He is currently out of town for his show and I am busy with Laagi…We just don’t have time for each other.”

Furthermore, apart from Laagi… Mahhi is also keen on being a part of reality shows. Currently, she is watching and enjoying Zee TV’s Star Ya Rockstar and she told us that she actually wanted to participate in the show. “I love the show. But I don’t think the producers will find my voice good enough for singing. Dance is what I think I can do,” beams Mahhi.

Work or no work, fans of Jay and Mahhi would love to see them tie the knot. We hope and wish that they sort out all issues and eat shaadi ka laddoo soon.

Romit Raj injured while shooting in Goa for Adaalat

The TV industry is not only about fame and money. It takes hard work, perseverance, and even pain to earn the status of a star. However, this Diwali was certainly not the best one for the actors of the telly world. After Ronit Roy’s incident of rash driving, we gather news that his fellow actor Romit Raj from the showAdaalat has been injured while shooting in Goa.

Sources revealed to us that few days back Romit was shooting an action sequence wherein he had to jump over a huge stone. Accidentally, he lost his balance and fell flat. He later got up, washed his blood-stained hands and got back to work.

“I was shooting in a church, an important location in Goa. It was a scene wherein I was acting along with Varun, KD (Ronit Roy) and episodic actor Aryan. I got injured but I finished my work and went straight to the Goa hospital. There I was given an injection and my wounds were cleaned.”

Romit further told us that he informed his wife Tine about the incident only after returning to Mumbai, or else she would have flown down to Goa.

Well, take care Romit and other TV stars. You can’t afford to lose your shine!!!!

Rashi to runaway from the Modi house in Saath Nibhana Saathiya

One of the most watched shows on Star Plus, Saath Nibhana Saathiya, is again up for an interesting track change. Rashi (Rucha Hasabnis) is trying hard to prove her innocence but Jigar (Vishal Gandhi) is in no mood to listen to her. The creatives will throw in loads of drama in the upcoming episodes, as Rashi, who will be unable to deal with the entire situation, will runaway from the Modi house and Gopi (Giaa Maanek) and Ahem’s (Mohammad Nazim) relationship will get better.

A source from the sets informed to us that in the show it is time for Rashi to pay for her sins. So far, along with her mother, she succeeded in troubling Gopi. However, now she will not be able to handle the crisis situation between her and Jigar. She will run away and go to her maternal place. Meanwhile, the entire Modi family will be worried about her whereabouts.

Furthermore, the coldness in Gopi and Ahem’s relationship will reduce and the couple will be seen spending some romantic moments together. Both will plan surprises for each other during their marriage anniversary.

We talked to Giaa Maanek who confirmed the track and said, “Viewers can expect something very interesting in the show. Gopi never expected that Ahem and her relationship will get better and he will actually start admiring her. There will be two unexpected things happening in the upcoming episodes. Firstly, Rashi and Jigar’s relationship, which was steady till now, will go sour and Ahem and I will come closer.”

If not Juhi, Lakshmi has a great chance of winning Bigg Boss season 5, says Sachin Shroff

It’s been a month and Juhi Parmar aka Kumkum of Balaji’s show KumKum is still holding her post in the world’s biggest house of scandals, Bigg Boss. Juhi is married to TV actor Sachin Shroff, who rose to fame with his role Arjun in Zee TV’sNaaginn. Recently, rumours were making the rounds that the couple was facing difficult times in their relationship. It was reported that they engaged in heavy duty verbal spats and decided not to stay with Sachin’s parents and shifted to an apartment in Kandivali East, Mumbai.

However, Sachin rubbished all claims and told Tellychakkar that he is having a hard time staying away from his better half.

“Juhi is a great partner and I miss her a lot. The good part is that I get to see her on TV. Things are difficult for her in Bigg Boss. But I am proud that she is portraying her true self in the house,” said Sachin.

Sachin further told us that Juhi was always keen to be a part of the show. So when the offer was made, he did not stop her from accepting it given the not-so-good ambience in the house. “She always wanted to go for Bigg Boss. She was trying for the show three months prior to its launch. I don’t like to stop her from doing anything.”

Sachin keenly follows the show and feels that Shraddha Sharma’s attitude has changed a lot and he finds Pooja Missra miserable at times. He thinks apart from Juhi, Lakshmi has a good chance of winning Bigg Boss season 5.

“I am amazed at the way Shraddha Sharma is behaving. We were on great terms years ago when I started my career and then lost contact. She was so sweet and decent earlier. I think every contestant is good natured and they are reacting according to the circumstances. It’s the nature of the game.”

Looks like Sachin is being quite an analyst for her dear wife. However, Shroff is currently in Delhi shooting for an automobile brand. “I miss Juhi a lot so I keep myself as busy as possible,” concludes the loving husba

Ruk Jaana Nahi Tu Kahi Haar Ke to go on air on December 19?

Playtime Creations’ next on Star Plus which is tentatively titled Ruk Jaana Nahi Tu Kahi Haar Ke is based on college politics and other issues faced by the youth of this country. The setting is based in North India. The show was earlier titledSangharsh.

Furthermore, it was supposed to go on air early this month but got delayed.

The channel initially allotted 8:30 pm slot to the show which meant it would replaceMaykee Se Bandhi... Dor and compete with Sony’s Kaun Banega Cororepati. But Playtime Creations had another show Laagi Tujhse Lagan in the same time slot on Colors. So to avoid clash of interests the production house decided to delay the launch of Ruk Jaana Nahi Tu Kahi Haar Ke.

A reliable source also informed to us that another reason for the show’s delay was creative differences between the production house and Star Plus. However, everything has been sorted out now and the production house has decided to resume shooting from November 14. The source further revealed that the show will go on air from December 19 2011. However, the channel is yet to confirm its time sot.

We talked to Playtime Creations’ Hemal Thakkar who said, “Well, nothing is confirmed yet but the show has not been scrapped.”

Aniruddh Dave and Pooja Sharma are the lead actors in Ruk Jaana Nahi Tu Kahi Haar Ke. Other actors include Paritosh Sand, Gyan Sahay, Vijay Kumar, Arun Bakshi, Sachal Tyagi, Sushil Bounthiyal, Zubin Dutt and Surendra Pal.

Rakhi Sawant to ask Anna Hazare to intervene on censorship issue

Well, well, well. This is one sexy and voluptuous babe who keeps hitting the headlines every now and then. Paparazzi absolutely love her. Sometimes she cries foul when singer Mika Singh kisses her in public or gets amused when photographers bend low to capture her panties. Whatever be it, she is one hotty-naughty girl who can never be avoided. Yes, we are talking about Rakhi ‘item girl’ Sawant.

But this time she is angry. The latest to face the ire of Bollywood’s biggest firecracker is none other than the Censor Board, for having bleeped out the words ‘Choos Le’ (suck) from her song ‘Jawani Ki Bank Loot Le’ in her upcoming filmLoot.

Rakhi insists that though the words could be controversial in nature when singled out, in her song, they have been used aptly and with the right connotations, without any vulgar or offensive meaning.

“If the Censor Board can pass songs like ‘Bhaag D.K. Bose’ (Delhi Belly) and ‘Jhak Maar Ke’ (Desi Boyz), why should they have a bias towards my song ‘Jawani Ki Bank Loot Le’? Why am I being targeted by the Board, whereas John Abraham, Deepika Padukone and Imran Khan can get away with it?” questioned an angry Rakhi.

But since the Censor Board is in no mood to listen, Rakhi has decided to approach India’s most famous anti-corruption crusader, Anna Hazare.

Confirming this, her publicist Dale Bhagwagar says, “It is true that Rakhi has decided to approach Anna Hazare. She is currently doing her research on songs which she considers vulgar and objectionable.”

Rakhi plans to carry videos and CDs to Anna Hazare’s village Ralegaon Siddhi in Ahmednagar and tell him to judge for himself, whether her song ‘Jawani Ki Bank Loot Le’ is vulgar compared to the others passed by the Censor Board.

Just for the record, the lyrics of Rakhi’s song reads, “Main russ malaai hoon, jannat se aayee hoon, saamne parosi hoon, aake choos le… hey… saiyaan jawani ki bank loot le.”

Well, will it be a meeting of minds when Anna and Rakhi meet? Definitely, on a particular level the two Maharastrians will bond. Expect a lot of Marathi conversation. On other levels, your guess is as good as anybody else's.

Splitsvilla winner Priya Shinde in Geet Hui Sabse Parayi

Spiltsvilla season 4 winner Priya Shinde is going places. Firstly, the pretty lady bagged a role in Colors’ Hamari Saas Leela and now she is all set to do a cameo in Star One’s popular show Geet Hui Sabse Parayi. In the show, the sexy lass will create problems between the couples Nandini (Melanie Pais)-Dev (Samir Sharma) and Lucky (Ahwaan Kumar)-Preeto (Khushbu Thakkar).

A little birdie from the sets informed us that Lucky and Dev will be out on work when they will meet Priya. Priya will accompany them to their home. Later, she will be seen creating misunderstandings between the couples. However, all this will also create some light moments for the viewers.

We talked to Samir Sharma (Dev) who said, “Yes, there will be a new entry in the show. But I can’t reveal anything else. All I can say, is just wait and watch.”

Aman Verma to flaunt his six pack abs for an upcoming play

Every actor, be it from the small or big screen, dreams to own a well-toned, machine like six pack abs. After SRK’s six packs in Om Shanti Om and Aamir’s eight packs in Ghajini, it is Aman Verma’s turn to jump on the bandwagon. Aman, who is best remembered for his films namely Baghban and Pran Jaaye Par Shaan Na Jaaye, is sweating it out to get a chiseled body for a historical play titled,Ta Hai Mohenjodaro. The actor, who was least seen in Colors’ Na Aana Iss Des Laado, will be a part of series of war like sequences. The role requires him to be physically fit and in the play he will flaunt his bare chest wearing only a dhoti.

Furthermore, Aman has replaced Lahore star Aanaahad Singh in the play. “I am extremely excited to play the lead role. The script demands me to play a tough character who’s a man of fewer words. It’s the portrayal of the character’s physical abilities that has led me to take up this challenge,” said Aman with a beaming smile.

Aman has always been regular with his exercise routine but now the dedication just got intense with heavy weights and cardio workouts twice a day. He’s also taking training for body pump and body combat to get faster results.

“I am working on my body extensively since the last 15 days. I have replaced Aanaahad. He trained for 180 days and I have trained only for 15 days. It is not possible for me to look like him physically,” said Aman.

However, the actor feels that he will do a much better job than Aanaahad.

“I have respect for him. He was really good in Lahore. But I think I will be much better with the experience and craft I have cultivated. I am working hard on the language as its shudh Hindi. What we speak is a cosmopolitan language but the play language is of a different era when there was no influence of other foreign languages like today,” Aman went on to say.

The play will be staged on 1 November, 2011 in Mumbai. We hope Aman looks sexy and hot when he comes on the stage armed with six-pack abs and a dhoti!!!

Two new entries in Sajan Re Jhoot Mat Bolo

TV viewers will experience new drama in SAB TV’s situational comedy Sajan Re Jhoot Mat Bolo. The show produced by Optimystix is named after the popular Hindi song “Sajan re jhoot mat bolo, khuda ke paas jana hai,” from the movie Teesri Kasam.

We mentioned ‘new drama’ as the show is all set to witness two new entries. Well-known Marathi actress Nirmala Kotnis and Shafiq Ansari will soon be seen playing important roles. Nirmala’s character will be of a lady who will want to marry Dhirubhai Jhaveri (Tiku Talsania), in spite of him being already married to Usha (Pallavi Pradhan). Shafiq will be Nirmala’s father and their origins will be from South of India.

The actors have already started shooting and there entry will be aired on 29 October, 2011.

A reliable source informed us that in the upcoming episodes, Dhirubhai will go to the hospital for a check up and there he will mistake Nirmala for Usha and agree to marry her. The entire story will revolve around the two intending to marry each other while the other members of the family will try dealing with the entire situation.

We spoke to Tiku Talsania who confirmed the entries and further added, “It is great fun doing comedy.”

Harsh to meet with an accident in Hamari Saas Leela

Colors’ Hamari Saas Leela tells a story of a mother (Apara Mehta) searching for perfect daughter-in-laws. The show has gone through a lot of ups and downs in the past few months. Due to its ever plummeting numbers, the channel contemplated taking the show off air but was later shifted to the afternoon slot after a week’s break. As if falling TRPs were not enough, rumours made the rounds that the set of the show is haunted.

Well, everything is back to being normal now and in the upcoming episodes in an interesting twist Harsh (Malahar Pandya) will meet with an accident. As shown in the earlier episodes, Harsh and Koyal (Aditi Sajwan) had to cancel their honeymoon trip once due to Sejal’s (Ketki J.) childish behaviour. However, soon Sejal realized her mistake and along with Sameer (Raashul Tandon) she planned a honeymoon for Harsh and Koyal.

Harsh will drive home fast in order to reach the airport on time for the honeymoon trip. On the way, his and Anokhi’s (Swati Kapoor) cars will collide leading to a major accident. Anokhi will be shown driving her car at a great speed as she will be angry that her father fixed her marriage without her approval.

The news of Harsh’s accident will come as a big shock to his family members. In fact, Leela will be taken aback as she was warned about this accident by Guru Mata. After the mishap, Harsh will slip into coma.

We talked to Malahar Pandya who said, “There is an interesting track ahead but I can’t reveal anything at this point of time.”

VJ Siddharth and Shonali get cosy in Bigg Boss season 5

Bigg Boss is one reality show that doesn’t fail to gain attention. Year after year it has churned out some of the most fascinating scenes of diverse human emotions which have put Indian television on a different and higher pedestal altogether. Bigg Boss season 4 became famous for the roaring heat generated by the lover boy Ashmit Patel and hot and sexy Pakistani bomb Veena Malik. Temperatures soared with the chemistry between Aryan Vaid-Anupama Verma, Payal Rohatgi-Rahul Mahajan, et al, in its earlier seasons.

However, romance was definitely a missing link this season. But now that too, is about to become a thing of the past. While India’s biggest ‘House of Scandal’ continues to buzz with mind-boggling activities, – including daily catfights, dirty politics, voyeuristic escapades, etc– Miss India International Shonali Nagrani and wild card entry Siddharth Bhardwaj have begun coochie-cooing like lovebirds on the reality show.

Sources revealed to us that night cameras have caught the couple in the bedroom, exchanging sweet-nothings, with Siddharth consoling and hugging Shonali and kissing her hand, while the girl seemed to reciprocate his every move.

VJ Siddharth shot to fame after winning the reality show MTV Splitsvilla and he has all the knowledge and expertise to deal and get acclimatized with the ‘survival of the fittest’ ambience in the Bigg Boss house. It seems that he is playing his cards right and given his warm bonhomie with Shonali, in the upcoming days the air will smell of romance inside the house.

“If all goes well, we should have the first full-blown romance of this season onBigg Boss in a few days,” says celebrity publicist Dale Bhagwagar.

Well, on the flipside, it might be a ploy by both of them to gain eyeballs and help the show climb up on the TRP chart. May be it is, but at the end of the day it doesn’t make much of a difference as long it is providing entertainment to the masses.

“Bigg Boss is a game and however much one thinks of it affecting the society, one should not forget that all the housemates know very well that they are wearing mikes around them and are surrounded by cameras 24x7. They have all gone on the show with personal agendas and roles to portray. They have all gone on it to play and win,” ends Dale.

Bigg Boss 5: Diwali gifts on the way

Gifts are on the way for the inmates of the Bigg Boss 5 house even as all Indians worldwide are having a blast celebrating Diwali. It’s not going to be a morose, sad, cooped up festival of lights for Bigg Boss participants.

Shakti Kapoor is in for a bonanza. His family has sent him clothes, a pooja thaliand a letter. Penned by his wife and daughter, the letter clearly states that they are extremely proud about the way that he has conducted himself in the house, keeping the 13 women at bay. Afghani beauty Vida apparently will be getting a photo and some chocolates. Vida, who does not get along too well with her family, is seen in the photo cheek by jowl with her mother.

Hiten Tejwani to replace Sushant Singh Rajput as Manav in Pavitra Rishta

The hunt has finally and officially ended. The replacement of Sushant Singh Rajput, who so very successfully played the part of Manav in the long running Zee TV drama Pavitra Rishta, is going to be a long term Balaji Telefilms loyalist: Hiten Tejwani.

The decision was not easy a-coming. Many actors were approached to play the part of an older Manav as the storyline of Pavitra scurries forward a few years. Among these: Mrunal Jain, Sharad Kelkar, Aamir Dalvi, Yash Tonk and Hiten Tejwani.

Mrunal, who was a very strong contender to play Manav, opted out because he was waiting to hear news about his playing the lead in a Star Plus show. This apart, he did not want to be seen playing a much older character when he is pretty young himself. Even the creative of Balaji and the channel seemed to be in agreement.

Sushant Singh Rajput stopped filming for the show on 23 October. Hiten is expected to start shooting in the coming week.

Ranbir Kapoor in Bigg Boss season 5

Bollywood’s blue-eyed boy Ranbir Kapoor is creating waves with his new rocking avatar in his upcoming movie Rockstar. The latest news is that the actor is all set to visit the sets of Bigg Boss 5 – Aapka Farman along with singer Mohit Chauhan. However, it is still not clear if they are going to enter the house and interact with the inmates. He will be in the show as part of the promotional campaign for Rockstar.

Well, if there is one thing that the Bigg Boss house has in abundance this season, is women. And anybody who has not been staying under the rock for too long will know that the Kapoor guy loves the fairer sex. Hence, Bigg Boss house is an idol platform for the Bachna Ae Haseeno star.

If sources are to be believed then Ranbir is very keen to have a conversation with the ladies – especially so because they are ‘trapped’ in the house with a handful men. Ranbir has in fact even managed to convince Mohit to have a word withSanjay Dutt on the two having a glimpse of the women inside the house.

Bihar computer tutor wins KBC Rs 5 crore jackpot

Well, Rs 50 million or Rs 5 crore is a lot of money. And you have to through – rounds against a very tough quizmaster in Amitabh Bachchan in Kaun Banega Crorepati. The Big B can make u nervous with his baiting style which makes you think you are making a mistake when you actually are correct. But all of the Big B’s tricks did not work with computer operator and tutor from Bihar Sushil Kumar, who held his nerve to get the grand prize of Rs 5 crore by answering the winning question.

The 28 year old who was just earning Rs 6,000 a month becomes the first Indian to have won that high an amount in a TV show.

Previously, Harshavardhan Navate, a young collegian had held that spot by winning Rs 1 crore on KBC, becoming the first Indian to have won the jackpot.Rahat Tasneem was the first woman to win a crore on KBC in season 4. Sources indicate the episode will go on air on 2 November.

When TV stars turned phatakas

It is that time of the year when each and every house will be gaudily lit up, crackling sound of crackers will pierce through the dark silence, and mouth watering delicacies will bring smiles to everyone’s lips. Yes, the festival of light, Diwali is here wherein the air smells of happiness and revelry. It is the most awaited festival which is celebrated with great pomp, glory and fervour.

Well, Diwali celebration is incomplete without crackers. And out TV stars are no less than phatakas themselves. So Tellychakkar talked to some of them and asked if given a chance which phataka they would like to become. Here are somephuljari answers…

Phulwa was a right choice, says Ajay Chaudhary

Stars are shining on actor Ajay Chaudhary. After quitting Vikram Bhatt’s Anhoniyo Ka Andhera he was offered Shashi and Sumeet Mittal’s next on Star Desh and Colors’ Phulwa. The actor was in a fix to select one and he finally opted for Swastik Pictures’ Phulwa.

At the time of signing the papers, Ajay was aware that his character was that of a small time robber –Shatrugan – who would later turn out to be an ACP –Abhay. But he was not aware how his role would finally shape up given the ever changing nature of the TV industry which is governed by TRPs. But the actor after shooting for a few months is happy to have chosen Phulwa. “I have finally got to do something in TV after a long time. I can tell you that it’s after Love Story andKumkum that I am happy with my role,” smiles Ajay.

The TV industry is primarily a female dominated world wherein males often resort to playing second fiddles. But lucky and talented Ajay has gained credibility with his role in Phulwa. “I think the character graphs of both my roles –small time robber Shatrughan and ACP Abhay – were beautifully crafted. The level of trust that Shatrughan developed was amazing and then the sudden change as Abhay has definitely been a big turning point for my character.”

The actor further told us that everyone on the sets shed real tears while shooting a scene wherein he had to arrest Phulwa (Sargun Mehta). “I was felling guilty to even shoot for that scene but that’s my job, so I had to do it. You won’t believe that my mother called me up and said that I wasn’t doing the right thing by arresting Phulwa”, ends Ajay.

We hope Ajay’s career graph keeps soaring high and he bags more meaty roles in the future!!!!

Vishal Malhotra treads the perfectionist way

Vishal Malhotra became a household name with his role John in Zee TV’s Hip Hip Hurray. The actor who started his film career with Shahid Kapoor in Ishq Vishq has come a long way and has emerged as one of the most successful personalities in the TV industry. The versatile actor owns an export & import business and is married to his long time girlfriend Raashi for almost a year now.

Vishal is currently seen as Dr Rangnath in Sony’s Kuch To Log Kahenge and he told Tellychakkar that he read the script more than 30 times before giving a nod. “I am very particular when it comes to taking up projects.”

The actor further told us that he has faith in the show and currently focusing on it. Films fall second on the priority list.

Naman Shaw replaces Anuj Thakur in Imagine's Beend Banoongaa...

The set of Beend Banoongaa Ghodi Chadhunga is abuzz with the news of its leadAnuj Thakur aka Jai getting replaced. A reliable source revealed to us that the actor was shown the door for throwing tantrums and starry airs. However, in a new and interesting twist, soon a new entry will heat up the chemistry between the most loved couple, Jai and Sarika (Jayshree Venketaramanan). The show will mark the entry of fresh talent Naman Shaw who will replace Anuj.

“I am very happy and fortunate to get such a meaty role. I have followed the show for a long time and I am sure I will do justice to the role and add my own flavour to it,” confirmed Naman to Tellychakkar.

Naman Shaw has earlier acted in Rakt Sambandh on Imagine TV where he portrayed the character of Niraaj. Naman will start shooting for Beend Banoongaa... by the end of this month.

“Currently, I am enjoying the festive season with my family. But I shall soon hit the screens. Hope people will love me,” ends Naman.

Tarun Khanna replaces Yash Tonk in Shobha Somnath Ki

After months of speculations, it’s official now that Swastik Pictures historical showShobha Somnath Ki on Zee TV is all set to take a 15-20 years leap soon. However, with the leap, viewers will witness some twists and turns. As reported earlier by Tellychakkar, Yash Tonk who plays Daddachalukya in the show is not very keen to essay the character, and if rumour mills are to be believed then after the leap he will be replaced by Tarun Khanna. Tarun was last seen in Zee TV’s historical extravaganza Jhansi Ki Rani.

Furthermore, the show will see some other replacements as well. Jignesh Mehta will step in as the grown-up Bheemdev and Ankit Mohan, who was last seen in Shahid Kapoor starrer Mausam, will play Prachasandaman, Bhanuman’s son.

In another development, the show will go bi-weekly from a daily at the same time slot in the near future due to its constant plummeting numbers. Zee TV’s new show Hitler Didi will fill in its place.

We talked to Siddharth Tewary of Swastik Pictures who confirmed Tarun Khanna’s entry in the show but refused to divulge any information on the show going bi-weekly.

Gulfam Khan enters Diya Aur Baati Hum

Shashi-Sumeet Mittal’s show Diya Aur Baati Hum has managed to strike the right chords with the masses. The beautiful love story has its setting in the picturesque Rajasthan. The show is aesthetically shot and has a script which is quite appealing and poignant. Furthermore, the latest news is that Gulfam Khan, who was last seen essaying a comic character in Sahara One’s Hi! Padosi..Kaun hai Doshi?, is all set to play a negative character in the show.

A source told us that the actress will be seen as Meenakshi’s (Kanica Maheshwari) mother. Her character is yet to be named hence she will be calledmaa and samdhan in the show for the time being.

“Yes, I am making an entry. My character is a vicious one,” confirmed Gulfam to Tellychakkar.

In the show, Meenakshi has been hit by her husband. Gulfam will show concern for her daughter initially but as the plot will progress her true colours will be revealed.

Furthermore, Meenakshi has always behaved the way her mother has wanted her to. In fact, now it will be clearer to the audience that Meenakshi is not the actual vamp but it is her mother.

The source further revealed to us that the actress has started shooting for the show last week and her entry will be shown in tonight’s episode.
