No Entry Saraswati hits a roadblock

Reported that Reliance Big Productions is coming up with a fiction show titled No Entry Saraswati for Sony. However, the latest update is that the show has been put on hold.

No Entry Saraswati was based on a boy who lives life on his mother’s terms and conditions but has his own desires. There was also supposed to be a love triangle track between a boy and two girls. However, the plot of the show might change now.

The show was to replace Kaun Banega Crorepati but the production house has now decided to delay it due to casting problems. Furthermore, the channel has also asked for some changes in the storyline.

Before hitting a glitch, the star cast of the show included Raj Singh who was last seen in Mukti Bandhan and Debalina Chatterjee, a new face. They were the leads on the show. Rucha Gujarathi was to play the love interest of Raj Singh. Furthermore, well-known Marathi actress Nirmiti Sawant was to play a key role of the lead’s mother.

A reliable source informed, “The show has been put on hold but it is still not scrapped. But the actors have been definitely released.”

We talked to Rucha Gujarathi who confirmed, “Yes, we have been asked by the production house to look out for other work.” However, she refused to divulge any further.

It's one big happy family on the sets of Sasural Genda Phool

Entertainment industry has a huge history when it comes to great rivalries and controversies. It is a task to come up with a coordinated group with identical visions in this business, where people just hunt for reasons to trip each other down. But as they say, there’s always an exception. If you intend to witness and realise the real meaning of bonhomie, then just visit the sets of Ravi Ojha’sSasural Genda Phool on Star Plus.

The sets of Sasural… is always a happy-go-lucky place to be. Be it a spot boy or the lead actor, everyone has a gala time during the shoots.

For Ragini Khanna, who plays the character of Suhana in the show, the cast & crew of Sasural… is like a second family. “Whenever I leave home for work I think I will miss my family, but as soon as I reach the sets, it feels like a second home. I have lots of fun with everyone,” said the actress who is known for her contagious laughter which spreads all around the sets.

Furthermore, the cast & crew of the show certainly believe in the funda, “A family that eats together, stays together”. Everyone joins in like a big happy family and shares lunch.

“It’s true. Everyone gathers in one room and pounces on the food like a hungry tiger. One may remember the scene from the old Amitabh Bachhan classic, Satte Pe Satte. However, I hate Jay Soni. He always takes away food from my plate and doesn’t even say sorry (laughs),” confesses the veteran actor Mahesh Thakur who essays the role of Suhana’s father, Kamal Kishor Bajpai.

We did catch hold of Jay Soni – who plays the role of Suhana’s husband, Ishaan Kahyap – and asked him about the breezy ambience on the sets.

“It’s crazy on the sets here. We all have a blast and it is so much fun that here is no work pressure at all. I enjoy the most during the lunch time. We work for 24 hours and it doesn’t feel tiring at all.”

It’s a rare case wherein the reel life family gets along so well in the real life as well. Kudos to the actors of Sasural Genda Phool for spreading joy and happiness for more than one and half year now.

Vishal Malhotra and Shahid Kapoor's inseparable bond

Boy next door Vishal Malhotra and Bollywood hot hunk Shahid Kapoor share a very special bond. Vishal – who is currently seen as Dr. Ranganath in Rajan Shahi’sKuch Toh Log Kahenge on Sony – first met Shahid in 2002 during the shoot of the movie Ishq Vishq. People loved the camaraderie between Mambo (Vishal) and Rajiv (Shahid) in Ishq Vishq. “Shahid and I share a very special bond. He is a big star but that hasn’t changed anything when it comes to our friendship,” said Vishal.

Shahid has risen as one of the biggest superstars of the Bollywood industry. Vishal on the other hand has made his mark with his character roles in different shows and movies namely Hip Hip Hurray, Ishq Vishq, Jannat, Salaam-e-ishq, and many more. Vishal rose on the popularity chart after hosting Zee TV’s showDisney Time India.

Vishal and Shahid were last seen together in Ken Ghosh’s Kismet Konnection. They also went on an international trip together a couple of months ago. However, the best of friends have decided not to do any film together until it’s really worth it.

“It has been nine years now and our friendship is growing with each passing year,” beams the actor.

Dahi bhalle, gol gappe and biryani delight the cast & crew of Hitler Didi

Good living and good food go hand in hand. The eating habits of Hitler Didi cast are as exciting as their personalities. The actors of the upcoming show on Zee TVRati Pandey, Sandeep Baswana, Gargi Sharma, and Smita Singh are having a gala time during the shoot of the show and couldn’t resist munching on local delicacies namely dahi bhalle, gol gappe, kachori and biryani.

Even when the star cast is busy shooting in the crowded locales of Delhi they manage to relish their favourite delicacies.

“The food is amazing out here and I don’t miss a single chance of eating varied delicacies. Dahi bhalle khaate khaate shot dedo and later gol gappe kha lo. I love the food in Delhi,” says Rati with a beaming smile.

Sandeep Baswana is another one who is going gaga over Delhi food. His culinary experience lasted all the way from Parathe Waali Galli in Chandni Chowk to Nawab Gunj. The actor who hails from Haryana believes that shooting in Delhi is like homecoming for him.

“I am getting to eat all my favourite food items after many years. We keep eating during the shoot as well. Rati once treated all of us to aloo puri. All I can say is that I am having a blast.”

The cast of Hitler Didi is bonding well it seems. Apart from healthy gastronomical experiences, they regularly play pranks on each other.

Sandeep informed that the male lead of the show Sumit Vats is a pandit and a pure vegetarian. He once contemplated to act naughty and mix non-vegetarian food in Sumit’s vegetarian food. But he pulled out at the last minute.

Furthermore, Smita who is playing Sandeep’s wife in the show complained that she has gained 5 kgs in the span of just 10-12 days. People on the sets have given her the sobriquet, ‘bhukkad of the year’.

“We are a gang of four people, namely producer Manick Bedi, director Mohit Jha, cameraman Hanif Sheikh and me. We are hardcore fans of non-vegetarian food and we eat anything from biryani to khichadi,” says Smita.

Well, we can only recount American chef and food writer James Beard’s words, “Food is our common ground, a universal experience.”

Darpan Shrivastava and Shailesh Gulabani to re-enter Baba...

Murli’s (Vikrant Massey) real father Murari and his entire family had made an entry a few months ago in Imagine’s Baba Aiso Var Dhoondo. However, tracks got twisted and the family made an early exit from the show. But a little birdie from the sets informs us that two members from Murari’s family will now be re-entering the show.

The two members are Darpan Shrivastava aka Murari and Shailesh Gulabani aka Kartik. Apart from Baba Aiso Var Dhoondo, Darpan is also a part of Colors’ Havanand Shailesh is seen in Star Plus’ Sasural Genda Phool and Imagine’s Preeto.

A reliable source informed us that the creatives are working on Murari and Kartik’s entry in the show and if everything falls into place then Darpan and Shailesh will start shooting from day after tomorrow.

We talked to Darpan Shrivastava who said, “Yes, I have received a call from the production house but nothing has been confirmed yet.”

As per Shailesh Gulabani, things are yet to materialise for him as well. “I am already doing two shows so I am not very sure about my entry in Baba… Furthermore, I am yet to meet the production house”.

I date a lot of girls but I am not a flirt, says Mohit Malhotra

Nowadays, it is pretty cool to date many girls at a time. Mohit Malhotra is one actor who believes in that philosophy but also has his own relationship fundas. Mohit rose to fame with MTV Splitsvilla where his chemistry with fellow contestant Joanna Magee became the talk of the town. Later, he was seen as the lead protagonist Birju on Star Plus’ Mitwa and now he is winning hearts in Sony’s Bade Acche Lagte Hain as Kartik (Sakshi Tanwar’s brother).

If rumour mills are to be believed then Joanna and Mohit’s relationship ended on a sour note. But the good-looking actor has a different tale to tell. “It’s true that Joanna and I are no longer together. But we ended our relationship amicably. There was no issue at all.”

Mohit further told Tellychakkar that he loves dating girls and likes socializing and partying hard. “I am a die-hard party lover. I like socializing but nowadays due to my work schedule I can’t go out much. Yet, somehow I manage things,” says Mohit with a smile on face.

Mohit is happily single but all geared up to mingle. Despite his flirtatious nature, Mohit expects to have a steady relationship in the future. “I belong to a proper Indian family. Marriage is nowhere on my mind right now, but I do think about marriage and kids. I completely believe in the institution of marriage,” adds the romantic Birju.

The actor said that the media has framed him as a flirt but he clarified, “I don’t deny that I date a lot of girls, but that doesn’t mean I am a flirt.”

As they say, to each his own. We just hope that Mohit hits on the right girl soon.

Sushant Singh Rajput to finally bid adieu to Pavitra Rishta

The news of Sushant Singh Rajput (Manav) quitting Zee TV’s Pavitra Rishta has been doing the rounds for quite sometime now. However, the latest news that is floating in from the sets is that the actor has finally decided to bid adieu to the show. The actor is currently serving his notice period and he will deliver his last dialogue for Pavitra Rishta on 23 October.

Reliable sources from the show informed that Sushant was supposed to quit the show last month but he decided to continue as the production house, Balaji, did not manage to find the apt replacement. The source further informed that queen of daily soaps Ekta Kapoor suggested Mrunal Jain’s name as the replacement. But now that there is still some time before Sushant’s exit, the production house is considering few more names.

Sushant’s last day of shooting is 23 October after which a new face will essay his character. As reported earlier, Sushant wants to pursue film-making for which he intends to go abroad. Sushant also didn’t approve of the leap sequence in the show which is round the corner.

We talked to Sushant Singh Rajput who said, “I can’t comment at this point of time.”

One of the major reasons for Pavitra Rishta’s success is not just its storyline but also its lead actors Manav (Sushant Singh Rajput) and Archana (Ankita Lokhande). Viewers loved the chemistry between them. Now that Sushant will be out of the show, only time will tell how the masses will react to the change.

TV actors take part in breast cancer awareness initiative

Television actors Mrunal Jain, Shardul Pandit, Sarita Shrivastav, Prerna Wanvari, and Tabrez Khan and creative professional Khalid Khan joined hands for a noble cause on Sunday (16 October). The actors got together to create awareness about breast cancer at an event called ‘walk for life’ conducted by Hiranandani Hospital, in Mumbai’s Powai area.

October being breast cancer awareness month, Dr L H Hiranandani Hospital did awareness programmes at the Hiranandani Gardens and hospital. As part of that, the hospital organised an awareness talk which was attended by the above mentioned celebrities, followed by a walk within the Hiranandani Complex. Real estate magnate Niranjan Hiranandani was the man behind the initiative with support from the Rotary Club of Powai (The Lakers).

Prerna Wanvari, who is currently playing the character of Ravina in Colors’Parichay, said, “I want people suffering from cancer to live their life to the fullest like Rasika ji (Joshi). She suffered from blood cancer. She is an example and a beacon for everyone suffering from cancer. She lived her life with dignity as though everything was normal even though she was fighting cancer with chemotherapy and other drugs. She acted, she performed on stage, did a movie even though she was going through pain. She continued doing so until her body could take it no more.”

Prerna, who is supporting the cause for the second year now, further added, “Next year we will try getting some more celebrities to lend their support.”

Pooja Missra to take legal action against Gulabo Sapera?

Rajasthani Kalbelia dancer Gulabo Sapera got evicted from Bigg Boss last week and the first thing she did after getting out of the house is to bitch about Pooja Missra.

Gulabo went on records and made a statement that Pooja smokes a lot. In fact, she further added that she has seen Pooja add something to her cigarette which she thought was drugs. Gulabo thinks that these additives are responsible for Pooja’s mad behaviour on the show.

And the story doesn’t end here. How can a story end so fast when it is about Bigg Boss inmates? Gulabo further stated that Pooja often borrowed incense sticks from her and later went to the washroom for unknown reasons. Gulabo presumed that Pooja ate the sticks to get high.

Well, we all know that a coin has two sides. While Gulabo was busy making eye-grabby statements to the media, Pooja Missra’s publicist Dale Bhagwagar entered the picture.

He stated that Gulabo may face legal action for “drugs” charge on his client. Dale clarified that to the best of his knowledge, each and every participant who enters the house goes through a medical fitness test just a few days ago and is thoroughly checked, scanned and screened along with all the baggage, before entering the show. Hence, he feels the house security levels are extremely high for any of the participants to sneak anything in the house.

Does this mean that Gulabo-Pooja war will continue outside the Bigg Boss house as well? We can only feel sorry for the judge who will preside over the case.

Tarana's mother Madhu Raja to enter Bade Acche...

Ram (Ram Kapoor) and Priya (Sakshi Tanwar) will soon fly off to Australia for their honeymoon in Sony’s Bade Acche Lagte Hain. However, the show is all set to take a dramatic turn as the makers have decided to bring in a new character. The new character will be portrayed by Tarana Raja’s mother, Madhu Raja. Tarana is already a part of the show and she is enacting the role of Ram’s friend, Neha.

A khabroo from the sets informed that Madhu Raja will essay the character of Ram Kapoor’s real mother who will meet him in Australia during the honeymoon trip. Madhu is a known face in Delhi where she was actively involved in theatre and production of shows like Phool Khile Gulshan Gulshan and others.

We spoke to Tarana Raja who confirmed her mom’s entry and said. “My mom has been approached to play a pivotal role in the show. The creative team was searching for a tall and beautiful woman who doesn’t look like typical television moms.”

Tarana further narrated that her mom visited the sets only once when she was spotted by the makers who called her for a look test. Finally after the auditions she was finalised for the role. “However, she is yet to start shooting,” said Tarana.

Madhu is yet to start shooting but people on the sets of Bade Acche… are already very fond of her. The reason being the yummy delicacies she cooks.

“My mom is a brilliant cook and she sends food for me on the sets. Apart from me, everyone from the production team just relish the food. Now everyone one is worried what they will do without my dabba (laughs),” informs Tarana.

Informing about the upcoming track the source said that during their honeymoon, Priya will come to know that Ram’s real mother is alive and she is staying in Australia. Priya, being a dutiful wife, will re-unite Ram and his mother.

Well, we hope Madhu’s acting talent is as good as her culinary skills!!!
